When Is Homestuck Prom?

It’ll take place on the 24th of May, 2013 at 6:00 PM CST. Though you’re free to come earlier or later. Obviously. 

Is this a real-life event?
Well it’s “real” enough, but it is an online event, yes. The huge span of the tumblr blogosphere and its users is kind of the point of the evening, after all. But you can make it as “real” as you’d like! That is, make themed decorations, throw a small scale gathering at your house, aggressively grind on others via webcam…You customize your Homestuck Prom experience~

Is there a meetup in my area?
  • Again, this is a primarily online event. Meetups are certainly allowed and encouraged, but they’re not this blog’s primary focus. 
  • For information regarding IRL homestuckprom meetups, visit homestuckpromirl.tumblr.com, which will be updated accordingly during the 2013 season. Direct any and all inquiries regarding IRL meetups to that blog, and not this one. There is only internet here. 
  • If it’s not on the page, we don’t know about it. Sorry!

So the theme is going to be ______. What does that mean?

It can mean whatever you want! You’re free to dress like it, (if you want to) decorate your room, decorate your irl meetups, make graphics, or do whatever you want! You’re also free to ignore the theme entirely!

Am I still allowed to go if I’m 14, 13, 12, etc…?

Most definitely~ Given that this is a predominantly online event, I couldn’t prevent anyone from attending, even if I took issue it. Which I don’t, actually. Seeing as you’re already on Tumblr, I fail to see what other horrible things we could possibly do to you. :)

Am I allowed to go without a cosplay?

You are. Cosplay is encouraged, and it’s what we look forward to, but if you don’t own one, and can’t whip one up, no harm, no foul. Get dapper and come along as you are. 

Do I have to have a date?

No, of course not! You’re free to go stag or coupled! :)

How do I nominate someone for Prom Court?

Just send an ask with the URL of your nominee, and the Prom Court position you’re nominating them for~

Am I allowed to dress as…?

Yes.
